GEAR JAMMIN' RIDE - MAY 2008
though it seems so long ago
truckers life giddy up go
mornings found me behind the wheel
snuggly tucked Geoff scored a reel
memories linger getting bold
soon nostalgia grasps firm hold
pulled back up from deep inside
hang on tight gear jammin' ride
driving rain, sweeping mist
blinding blizzards get my drift
uphill climb engine whines overheat
dropping gears true in sync feat
ready Freddy downhill slalom
jake brake raps echo's callin'
spectacular glimpse of sunrise lane
exhilaration my claim to fame

LA FUN RUN - MAY 2008
one night of rest in our small bunk
cuddle up close to my sweet hunk
next morn up and running again
load of meat Los Angeles den
LA Chicago sport small dock
many more too gee what a crock
narrow streets sharp corners tight squeeze
whatever you do please don't sneeze
drive to Vernon trailer wash out
up the coast bananas we shout
most perishable load we can haul
sometimes overweight clients call
monitor close as temp must hold
never too hot and not too cold
race to Winnipeg don't be slow
be a trucker giddy up go

LA and other cities sporting small loading docks
make for a fun and at times a puzzling dilemma!

FLORIDA COAST - MAY 2008
night in our bunk favorite spot
kickass spaghetti Geoff's best got
load of French fries Manassas bound
Virginia landscape beauty found
up down slow down curves up ahead
some drivers shoulda stayed in bed
Florida dead head plantation site
Immokalee tomatoes bright
on up the coast through Georgia state
both Carolinas with our freight
Virginia Maryland PA too
state of New York singing yahoo
crossing border long before dawn
trying hard to stifle a yawn
Montreal market smugness staff
poor French lass we got the last laugh

Wpg along the FL coast then up to Montreal!

MAINE LINE - MAY 2008
next morning off to sites unknown
back wood roads some quite overgrown
Burnt Church New Brunswick peat moss farm
Vineland New Jersey loads of charm
met the worst border guards in Maine
rotten attitude gave all pain
felt sorry for one held so long
that awful guard did him so wrong
in all years crossing back and forth
only jerk found we south or north
I Nine Five to I Two Nine Five
near town of Bath Kamboni's hive
one drop Portland early next morn
Bridgeport Connecticut next bourn
cross Washington Bridge tolls abound
I Ninety-five more Southward bound
New Jersey turnpike exit off
Fifty-five highway more narrow trough
dead head Birmingham ease in slow
another meat load northward flow
Toronto sub sees Brampton shine
unload relax spend quiet time

East coast Canada south to East Coast USA!

TEN-FOUR TENNESSEE - MAY 30 2008
two days rest each night in our bunk
most beds in hotels deemed pure junk
always seems toss 'n' turn all night
ever so tired looking a fright
perhaps you'll hear us coming soon
frozen turkeys ex-gobble boon
twenty-five hours to Winnipeg
marks start point of this new leg
Stony Mountain government store
explosive load rockets and more
precious cargo an escort please
to aid bridge crossings with more ease
first drop Norfolk back up the state
cross to island second drop gate
now some fun from isle to mainland
Chesapeake Bay Bridge oh so grand
twenty mile stretch mostly on top
two underwater cannot stop
must maintain speed of fifty-five
no more no less on scenic drive

Nashville Memphis on down the line
country music greats of all time
though never ever got the chance
just the thought made me wanna dance
outside of Memphis Rossville pride
stands home of Kellogg’s step inside
onward we go to Saskatoon
delivery set two days at noon
off with the load drop pick up new
quick as a jet we nearly flew
drop that load in company yard
home of Calgary Stampede pard
deadhead to High River meat plant
load weight maxed tri-axle implant
this time bound for Atlantic coast
first drops an area proudly boast
underground city Montreal
horse drawn carriages rides enthrall
cross St Lawrence lies Boucherville
three dollar coffee high class bill
final drop Nova Scotia bound
Dartmouth be place where we expound

no loads now for a day or two
this small truck stop will have to do
rest relax maybe have some fun
Final Fantasy nine game run
northbound Inkerman, New Brunswick
peat moss load done up mighty quick
seems always running far behind
pushing hard so not in a bind
over Rockies shifting accord
seventy hours to Abbotsford
load of bushes and some small trees
route Paramus New Jersey please
from west to east and back again
days and miles seeming without end
narrow roads concrete dividers
humidity high real soakers
running north New York Waterloo
Lethbridge bound Minute Maid juice brew
six weeks on road very long haul
body requests rest urgent call
